Rosneft Increased Aircraft Refueling Volumes by 20% in 2013

In 2013, Rosneft became the leader of the Russian market in terms of the amount of aviation fuel sold by supplying over 3.2 tonnes of fuel vs. 3.1 million tonnes in 2012 to consumers. At the same time, the volumes of aircrafts’ refueling grew by 20% - from 1.8 million tonnes to almost 2.2 million tonnes, respectively.

This result was achieved due to the implementation of the whole range of projects. The Company received operational control over fueling facilities at the airports of Sheremyetevo, Sochi, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar, Gelendzhik, Anapa, Rostov-on-Don, Abakan. Besides, it opened storage cards at the airports of Domodedovo and Yakutsk. Currently, the Company provides “in-wing” refueling services at 26 airports in the territory of Russia.

Last year, he Company significantly extended the client base of the priority refuleing channel, “in-wing”, by attracting such leading airlines as Deutsche Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air, Korean Air, as well as OJSC Ural Airlines and OJSC Siberia Airlines. Besides, it extended the geography of work with OJSC Transaero Airlines and OJSC Aeroflot. Rosneft fills these airlines’ aircrafts in all regions where it works, it also signed a five-year contract for refueling aircrafts at the Sheremetyevo Airport with OJSC Aeroflot.

Last year, the Company initiated the supplies of aviation fuel made by the Samara group of Rosneft’s refineries to Ukraine.

LLC RN-Aero, whichrepresents Rosneft’s interests in the aviation fueling business, is going to extend the practice of signing long-term agreements with air carriers with formula-based pricing on the basis of transparent global indicators, which will contribute to strengthening a transparent pricing system in the Russian market of aviation fuel.
